Angela Williams

Program Director Pamela Williams-Paige

Pamela Williams-Paige, began her nursing career in 1991 after graduating from Florida Community College of Jacksonville with an Associate in Science Degree. In pursuit of higher education, Pamela attended prestigious Jacksonville University and graduated in 2005 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Having achieved a 3.8 GPA, highest in her class, she was awarded the RN-BSN Award for Professional Excellence. The following year Pamela was accepted into Jacksonville University’s Graduate School of Nursing , and 2009 received her Master of Science in Nursing, Specialization in Administration. Pamela has a diverse background in psychiatric nursing, medical-surgical nursing, geriatric nursing, urgent care, case management, utilization management, quality management, etc. She has a vast level of knowledge and expertise in Managed Care, the health care delivery system organized to manage cost, utilization, and quality. Her goal is to ensure our nursing curriculums meet all state and federal regulatory requirements and ensures all students achieve their educational goals.

Kenyannya Wilcox

English ProfessorKenyannya Wilcox

Kenyannya Wilcox is a native of Jacksonville, FL. Her educational foundation was started here in Duval County Public Schools. After graduating high school her keen passion for education grew when she attended the University of South Alabama, where she majored in education with a concentration on Leisure Services.

Upon her return home to Jacksonville, FL Ms. Wilcox obtained a temporary position as a guest teacher that lasted 3 years. As years passed her heart for education and children grew enormously whereas she has been employed in Duval County Public Schools for nearly 18 years and has served in various roles from substitute teacher, teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal.

In her continuous efforts to spark the minds and interest of our leaders of tomorrow Ms. Wilcox continuously tries to stay abreast of recent best practices and grow in the profession of education, organizational management, and teamwork. Hence, she has most recently obtained her Credentialing as a child care director, an adjunct professor at Florida State College at Jacksonville, and in various Star 6 Sigma courses. The profession and active practice of education is a “heart thing” for Ms. Wilcox as she is the epitome of an educator and advocate thereof from birth to post secondary, literally.

Clinical InstructorAngela Williams- Zamora

Zamora graduated from Sanford Brown Institute April of 2013 with a ASN. She was born in Jacksonville FL and is a native of Florida. She became a travel nurse in 2014. She has traveled to Nevada, California, Texas, Nebraska, Organ, Florida and Michigan. She has touched many live and worked at multiple hospitals. She is very involved with the love of people, care of people lives, and the encouragement of people. Her love for God keeps her grounded by her faith.

Cheryl M Johnson

Mathematic ProfessorCheryl M. Johnson

Cheryl M. Johnson developed an early interest in helping others with their school assignments and decided to enter a profession that would afford her the opportunity to do so daily. She excelled in mathematics throughout her primary and secondary school years. Having a love for mathematics and the ability to assist others with understanding its intricacies, naturally led to the field of education. Although discouraged by others, she knew that becoming an educator was her true calling. Due to this, she was invited to attend a future educator’s conference at the University of Florida as a sophomore in high school where she later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in 1992 with honors. After graduation, she began her teaching career as a middle school math teacher for 16 years. Her leadership skills led to a district level position where she was offered the honor of earning a master’s degree from her alma mater. She accepted the honor by earning her Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2011, with honors.

During her 31-year tenure with Duval County Public Schools (DCPS), she has held a few leadership positions both at the school and district level. At the school level, she held the position of Assistant Principal and Dean of Students for High School students who were two or more years over-age graduate on time and ready to fulfill college and career goals through individualized support. Mastery of this role led to her current position as a School Culture and Climate Specialist with Duval County Public Schools in the Student Discipline and Support Services department. The focus of this role is placed on the use of positive behavior interventions and school-based disciplinary strategies that reduce or eliminate the need to use suspension as a disciplinary option, build social emotional skills and increase academic success through professional development and follow-up. This allows Cheryl to continually assist others but on a larger scale.

When she is not working with DCPS, Cheryl enjoys church activities, especially singing in the choir. Puzzles of many sorts and Candy Crush provide a source of entertainment and calm in a world that can be plagued with stress. One of her great and favorite loves is spending time with her family which includes her husband, two children and three, soon to be four, grandchildren, parents, extended family and friends. Cheryl believes you don’t need a lot of money to lead a rich life. Good friends and a loving family are worth their weight in gold.

Mark Abejo

Nurse ProfessorMark Fredderick Abejo

Mark Fredderick Abejo is a certified nursing educator and a registered nurse with over 14 years of clinical and academic experience in the Philippines. His areas of expertise include foundations of nursing, maternal-child, medical-surgical, and research. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters of Arts in Nursing with a major in Nursing Administration with a subspecialty in Medical and Surgical Nursing.

For several years, he has had the opportunity to teach at various colleges and universities in the Philippines. He also works as a nursing reviewer for both local and foreign board exams. Mark was also given the opportunity to work with several US companies such as Aetna, Cardinal Health, Medtronic, Tenet Health, and Conifer Health, handling different positions such as utilization management specialist, charge auditor, provider enrollment/credentialing specialist, and medical records reviewer.

Mark is also the author and owner of the All For Nursing website and blog, which provides learning materials, information, and articles to all nursing professionals around the globe. His passion for teaching and guiding future nurses would be a great asset in this academy.

Linda Malone

Board MemberLinda Malone

Linda Malone was born and raised in Texas. She attended Texas Woman’s University for her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing. She worked as an RN at Children’s Medical Center in the ICU for 6 years before completing her Master’s in Child Health Nursing.

She worked as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years in both the hospital and clinic settings. She and her husband moved to Florida in 2019. Wanting more flexibility in her options, she decided to gain experience with adult patients, working the last 3 years in Florida State Prison, Home Health nursing, and travel nursing in a Medical Surgical setting. She remains active in nursing, enjoying the Florida climate, spending time with family, and gardening.

Ashley

Nurse ProfessorAshley Turbyfill

Ashley Turbyfill is looking forward to helping each of you achieve your goals. She has been a register nurse since 2009 and obtained her master science of nursing in family nurse practitioner in 2020. She currently works as an APRN at the Department of Correction. She has worked in healthcare over 18 years, starting as a surgical technician with an oral surgeon, she desired more hands-on care. She enrolled at FSCJ into the associate degree of nursing program to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. After graduation, her first job was in corrections at Florida State Prison, after receiving experience in acute care, she got a job at Shands Jacksonville working as a medical-surgical nurse, this allowed her to obtained her medical-surgical certification.

Ashley was awarded Compassionate Caregiver of The Year in 2014, which was super exciting for her. She doesn’t want you to ever feel that people will not notice your efforts because they will. After 5 ½ years, she decided to move to the emergency department for 8 months, later going back to corrections.

Prior to graduation from her MSN program, Ashley was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2020, she stopped working to start chemotherapy in order to fight the ugly disease, during the same time, COVID became the world’s main attention. She worked at CVS MinuteClinic doing COVID testing.

Besides work, Ashley enjoys spending time with my son, going to his baseball games. Their family consist of 5 cats, 8 hamsters and a turtle, this keeps her busy. Ashleys’ words to you “I look forward to working with everyone, remember; you all will excel and make your dreams come true!”

Dr. Gregory Shealy is a Florida native; born in the city of Vero Beach which is located on the Treasure Coast. She currently reside here on the First Coast with her family in the city of Jacksonville.

Marilyn Felder is a Florida native; born in the city of Vero Beach which is located on the Treasure Coast. She currently reside here on the First Coast with her family in the city of Jacksonville. 

Marilyn have 25 years of experience in Healthcare Administration specializing in the areas of effective communication, leadership and personal growth initiatives. She is passionate about mentoring others to reach their full potential and achieve success with their personal goals. 

During her tenure with Aetna, she worked to make the case for management executives to invest in opening a Toastmasters chapter to help their employees, their families and community develop strong communication and leadership skills.  The club has achieved success with its mission for over 15 years for Aetna as well as those members who were employed by other businesses in the community such as Baptist Health and the Bank of America.

In her free time she enjoy reading, decorating, traveling, shopping and most of all she enjoy spending time hanging out with my family and friends. 

Tachelle

Nursing Assistant InstructorTachelle Jones

Tachelle Jones was born and raised in St Petersburg, Florida. She has been in the medical field for over 28 years. She started as a certified nursing assistant and home health aid, later transitioning to a license practical nurse after graduating from Brewster Technical College. Tachelle’s love for nursing has allowed her to work in many different areas which includes: long term care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, private care, schools and addiction centers. She also served on Florida Emergency Management Team during the Covid pandemic traveling throughout the State administering COVID Vaccines.

Her willingness to serve the communities during the critical and crucial times lead her to Alaska, Texas, Deland and Jacksonville. The skills and experiences she have gained as a nurse has far outweighs her expectations. She loves teaching and sharing her experiences with others for gainful knowledge. During her spare time, she sends her day shooting pool, karaoke and spending time with her family.
